Chair Kevin Dawes asked how often the committee should conduct safety inspections; Patrick McNally recommended "doing inspections prior to each committee meeting, which would be four times a year." Committee members discussed making an inspection schedule an agenda item and assigning responsibility for inspections.
Members noted it would be practical to ask the Building Official and the Fire Marshal to complete inspections because they already conduct building inspections and could incorporate the committee’s checklist. Mr. McNally confirmed the committee could decide to do that. The minutes record that members agreed it would be beneficial for McNally to return to future meetings to assist with implementation.
