Mr. Malinaro urged the council to scrutinize a proposal to convert the former Moose Lodge into a nightclub or event center, saying the venue could host weddings and other events and would likely serve alcohol. “This has the potential of being in a residential area and being, probably pretty loud,” he said, citing past problems with a similar venue and neighborhood complaints.
He pointed councilors to the municipal noise-control chapter and recommended they review the code provisions that address noise-related public-health and psychological impacts. Malinaro said police reports exist related to prior problems and warned he would return to the council if issues continued; the council did not take immediate formal action at the meeting.
