Planning Commission outlines housing, business and infrastructure goals; RV rules drew concern

Planning Commission President Darin Clark reported to the council that the Aug. 25 planning meeting with John Riggs identified five responsibilities and five goals for the town’s Comprehensive Plan, including policies intended to attract businesses and housing, potential annexations, relocating the fire department, creating a cul-de-sac on Bell Street and constructing a splash pad.
Clark said most people who attended the public hearing expressed concerns about recreational vehicles and distinctions between commercial, industrial, farming and other vehicle classes. He also noted progress on city entrance signs and recommended solar-powered lighting for those signs. The planning presentation was given as part of the council’s regular meeting.
