Council appoints Dakota Nave to Ward 2; elects Leanna Payne president, Larry Walker financial officer

Councilwoman Melody Adams moved to appoint Nave and Councilman Larry Walker seconded; the roll-call vote was recorded as 6-0 in favor and City Clerk Jeanelle Simpson swore Nave in. Immediately afterward, councilmembers voted on leadership positions: Councilman Fred Long nominated Councilwoman Leanna Payne as president of the council; the motion passed 7-0. Payne then nominated Councilman Larry Walker as financial officer; that motion also passed 7-0.
The agenda was approved with one change: removal of a "Recognition of Service" item and addition of a potential street-vacation item regarding Michael Young. The agenda change motion was made by Councilwoman Leanna Payne and passed on roll call 7-0.
