The Land Records Committee on June 2 set a $150,000 minimum bid for RH‑1327 (209/213 E Frederick St in the City of Rhinelander) after reviewing an appraisal and county-maintenance expenses. Sara Chiamulera told the committee the appraisal found severe damage to heating, plumbing, electrical and exterior systems and that, because of the condition, the structure itself was valued at $0. The committee voted to accept a motion to set the minimum bid and to run a sealed-bid sale with a closing date of July 31, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. CT and an opening of sealed bids at the August 4, 2026 Land Records meeting.
Chiamulera said the front door had been found unlocked and a broken basement window possibly provided access; Buildings and Grounds has boarded basement windows and the property is being monitored daily. She recommended scheduled open‑house style showings—staffed for a few hours on a single day each week—because she expects high community interest. The committee adopted the motion to set the minimum and the sealed-bid schedule; the motion to set the minimum bid was made by Chairman Robert Briggs and seconded by Chris Schultz.
