County Land Information staff informed the Land Records Committee on June 2 that increased server and equipment costs have raised the estimated price of county NG9‑1‑1 GIS upgrades, though the grant award itself will not change. Sara Chiamulera said County ITS provided updated hardware quotes and staff asked the County Board to modify the 2026 budget to move funds from the General Fund to an account to pay up-front for server and software purchases, a 3‑inch countywide orthophoto and building outline generation.
Chiamulera told the committee the Executive Committee tabled the item on May 20 pending more exact numbers and will revisit the matter with updated quotes at its June 3 meeting; she said a new resolution is scheduled to go to County Board on June 16. “The grant award amount will not change; therefore, Sara and Jason are asking County Board to modify the 2026 Budget and move funds from the General Fund to an account to fund the grant awarded projects,” she reported. The committee did not take a formal vote on the budget transfer at this meeting.
