VDOT highlights pipe repairs, paving and safety studies; supervisors ask for local speed and signal checks

A VDOT representative briefed the Board on recent and upcoming road work. Completed items included pipe replacements on Route 756 (Old Forge Road) and Route 739 (Bethlehem Road), and completed surface treatment schedules. VDOT reported paving and maintenance work on Route 40 and scheduled mowing rounds. Two safety studies were completed (Route 122 at Lake Mount Drive and Route 671/826), resulting in signage adjustments rather than larger changes.
Supervisors raised a speeding complaint on Ingramville Road and asked VDOT traffic engineering to review posted speeds and consider changes if warranted; VDOT agreed to have engineering staff investigate and consider tube counts. The VDOT representative said signals at Summit View would remain in a flashing mode until warrants were met, and that tube counts and development changes would determine timing for a full signal.
