The Richmond City Council approved a request from Susan Foster and neighborhood volunteers to close Circle Lane for the sixth annual Circle Lane block party on Saturday, Aug. 15, with Sunday, Aug. 16, reserved as an inclement-weather date. The event is planned for noon to 3 p.m., and the motion that passed authorized closure from 69874 Circle Lane to the west entrance of Armada Ridge.
A council member (speaker 6) moved to approve the request; the motion was supported and passed by voice vote. City staff and councilors noted the event has run successfully for five prior years without reported issues. The council offered a brief wish for good weather and moved on to the festival items.
