The discussion focused on what the council meant by an amendment that added the word 'regulated' to sale restrictions; staff noted that term is broad and can unintentionally exclude benign activities such as bakery products or handcrafted goods shipped off-site.
Commissioners asked planner Sarah Franklin to research how peer municipalities handle regulated activities and to consult the Town Council about specific prohibitions (for example, how firearms, pharmaceuticals or cannabis-related sales should be treated). The commission agreed to revisit the issue in August when staff returns with comparative language.
