Toms River district mobilizes relief drive for Hurricane Helene

Board member Mr. Sinha described a district-led relief effort for areas affected by Hurricane Helene that will collect a short list of requested items across schools, palletize them and ship them via a logistics partner to distribution centers in the affected county. "We are going to do a relief effort for hurricane Helene... partner with a group called Princeton Logistics," he said.
Mr. Sinha said retired superintendent Steve Corso helped coordinate outreach and that distribution will be directed by retired colonels at the receiving end to ensure items are routed where they are needed. The Chair and other members praised the plan and cautioned donors to provide only items on the requested list to avoid overwhelming relief organizations.
