The commission heard a presentation from Tim DeBartolomeo of Sound Engineering Associates, who said his firm (which acquired Docco) is submitting a DEEP application for a private shared dock associated with a four-lot subdivision at 991 Sheffield Road. He described a gangway to floating docks to service four transient vessels and noted Army Corps guidance that docks remain approximately 18 inches above the substrate.
Following the presentation and brief clarifying questions about a public bench and gate, commissioners moved and unanimously approved a consistency finding that the LWRD application from Atlas Construction Companies for 91 Sheffield Street is consistent with the harbor management plan. Commissioners recorded no opposition. Tim requested staff sign-off on presubmittal consultation forms with DEEP to move the application forward for the 2027 season.
The presentation emphasized the dock's configuration (gangway to floating docks, servicing four transient vessels) and that required technical details (bench and gate location) will be added to submitted drawings. The commission's finding is advisory; DEEP and the Army Corps retain permitting authority.
