He thanked mentors and family members, named several political allies and supporters, and said he wants to help sustain county programs that serve "seniors to veterans, to the underprivileged, the hungry with meals programs" and county assets including parks and Passaic County Community College.
Galicki told the commissioners he had been "called" to this public service and acknowledged local party leaders who supported his appointment. The ceremony included a flag salute, a gun salute by a militia, an invocation by Father Patrick Ryan and the national anthem performed by Iris Reyes.
The board's chair and clerk congratulated Galicki and the commissioners completed a brief transition to the regular meeting following the ceremony. Galicki was introduced at the ceremony by John Curry, Passaic County Democratic Committee chair, who explained the county committee selection process under state election law.
