Elementary principal presents TK–5 Student of the Year awards

Miss Slupton, the elementary principal, introduced the district’s TK–5 Student of the Year recipients and read teacher nominations for each child.
"So I am pleased to nominate Ainsley Sandoval for the Coyote Bend City School of the Year award," Miss Slupton read as she outlined teachers’ praise for the student’s work ethic and classroom behavior. The program named winners including Ainsley Sandoval (TK), Sawyer Morgan (kindergarten), Sofia Botel (1st grade), Ishmael Ebara (2nd grade), Darius Herman (3rd grade) and Josh McClain (4th grade). Teachers highlighted achievement in reading and math, leadership and perseverance.
The board and families joined students as awards were presented. Bruce Davidson, speaking for the middle-school program, later introduced middle- and high-school honorees and thanked staff and families for supporting the recognition program. The event was framed by the board as a celebration of student progress across grade levels and an opportunity to note extracurricular and classroom accomplishments.
