The board approved a slate of administrative items during the business portion of the meeting. A modification to the L3Harris master service agreement (Amendment No. 2) will remove an unused Exacom logging recorder from service and reduce annual maintenance costs by $36,695. The resolution and price revision were approved by roll call.
The board also appropriated half of a DCJS School Resource Officer grant (total award $300,000) to fund three SROs for half a fiscal year, agreed to add three police positions to the position control chart, and approved a related appropriation for vehicles, uniforms and equipment. Finance staff said the grant spans two fiscal years and the county will budget its required match accordingly.
Separately, the board approved a CIP budget transfer and awarded a contract to replace the Human Services Building cooling tower (~$116,980) to CII Services and authorized the county administrator to execute the contract. Later, members moved into a closed session under Virginia Code §2.2‑3711(A)(1) to discuss matters relating to the County Administrator; upon return the board certified that only permitted subjects were discussed.
