Applicant says safety, parking and stormwater concerns were reviewed; offers mitigation and signage

Belden said the street is a low-speed dead end and that he does not "personally see the safety concern" for the additional, limited driveways, but he also said the applicant is open to addressing safety concerns and signage during site-plan review. "We did not have any concerns" from police or fire at technical review, Belden said, and the applicant confirmed it will provide two parking spaces per unit rather than the one required by statute.
The board's approval explicitly asks planning/technical review to examine the impact of snow accumulation on the street and on-street parking, and to recommend signage (for example: "Dead end '1 No access to Academy") if appropriate. The board stressed that granular issues such as snow storage, tree retention and exact driveway placement would be handled in planning and site-plan review.
