Superintendent Pete reported that the proposed trap‑shooting club has insurance clearance and draft policies in place, but legal restrictions prevent the Associated Student Body (ASB) from funding certain activities. As a result, the club needs an external 501(c)(3) fiscal agent to accept and manage fundraising money and provide financial oversight.
Pete said once a fiscal agent is identified and an adviser or supervisor is confirmed, the club can finalize logistics and fundraising. A committee member (S5) offered to contact the Benton-Franklin Pheasants Forever Club, a local 501(c)(3) that runs clay-pigeon events, and will report back before the next meeting. District staff said policy and procedures provided to the board are largely complete and that the fiscal-agent requirement is the primary remaining hurdle.
