Highway department reports lower-than-expected distributions, lists ongoing paving projects

Matt Holden of the Highway Department told commissioners the county received $548,000 in direct lane-mile distribution funding, noting the amount was "substantially lower than we thought" because of gas-tax and excise-tax suspensions. He said the county is working with the governor's office and has seen an initial reimbursement of roughly $239,000 and other smaller amounts for recent months.
Holden reviewed recent project activity: the Toyota Grama intersection upgrades and perimeter road rehab were completed, a TIF county road project (350 East) is underway, and local-funded paving work on a 2.5-mile stretch of Yukanny is expected to finish this week. He also said the county's chip-seal distributor truck arrived after a months-long delay and crews started chip sealing in East Gibson.
