Resident Dan Adamson warns school board of possible financial mismanagement

Resident Dan Adamson told the Kiona-Benton City School District board he appreciated recent cleanups but said he is concerned about the district's financial oversight and the need for accountability. "Mismanagement of funds is mismanagement man of funds," Adamson said, adding that he and others will be "paying attention" to how outside organizations and consultants are used on district finances.

Adamson spoke during the public comment period after the board read its public comment procedures and said he was troubled that several outside groups have been brought in to assist with financial matters. He urged the board to ensure transparent, prudent use of district resources and flagged public scrutiny if the community perceives poor stewardship.
