County to convene emergency meeting after state freezes November food‑assistance issuance

"The November issuance for food assistance benefits is been placed on hold," Melinda said. She proposed a Wednesday meeting at 2:30 p.m. that would include emergency management, the school district, public health, senior services and other community partners to coordinate immediate support and explore using Dolores County social‑services funds to fill gaps. A board member responded that a meeting on the 22nd would be appropriate and several board members indicated willingness to participate.
Melinda said she would reach out to invite partners and try to gather information from an earlier regional Good Food Collective meeting to inform local planning. The board did not commit specific funds at the meeting but authorized staff to convene partners and report options.
