At the meeting, district leaders introduced local business owners who surprised selected teachers with grants to support classroom activities. The superintendent said the donations came from business partners that recently hosted staff appreciation events. One presenter described moving to Clover five years ago and said the family wanted to "assist teachers in expanding the learning process beyond the classroom." She named three individual recipients (Sam Harper; Rosa Ford) and the Oak Ridge Elementary Drama Club.
The presenter said their companies — described in the meeting as Clear Air Filtration and Southern Edge — would provide contact information and welcomed further collaboration with teachers and the district. "We don't want [students] to miss out on their education because if they worry about something so simple as a pair of shoes, it's not gonna work that way," the presenter said, urging staff and families to reach out when students have basic needs.
