Trustees discussed the SRO agreement (school resource officer MOU) that had been on both the board's and the city council's agendas. The board's attorney reported that the city's attorney informed her the city planned to table the agreement because the city's liability insurance carrier raised questions. "Jeff Davis, city attorney emailed me this afternoon that they are gonna table the MOU tonight at their meeting and requested that the school system consider tabling it as well," the board attorney said.
After brief discussion the board moved to table its action on the agreement until the next regular meeting in August; the motion carried unanimously. The superintendent said he had met with the police chief and city officials and that both boards had been prepared to proceed before the late notice from the city's counsel.
