Finance reports and packet items were presented and approved. The consolidated fund financial statements as of June 30 were accepted, and the board approved five budget amendments described as year-end cleanups that moved state and federal allocations into appropriate instructional and personnel codes; the motion carried unanimously.
Trustees also approved the Child Nutrition procurement recommendations for the upcoming year, including Sysco for food lots, Kinney for produce, Mayola for milk, Franklin Baking for bread and Hershey for ice cream; the Department of Corrections was recommended for cleaning chemicals. The board approved four contracts that required vote (driver's education vendor, Center for Inquiry-Based Learning for K–8 science kits, Curriculum Associates renewal for I-Ready, and a roof project estimate) and accepted a $7,484.65 donation from the Koenig Foundation to buy a sousaphone for the Roanoke Rapids High School band.
