City staff reported that the North Salt Lake City Council on April 7 approved the development agreement and final zone change for the Clifton South PUD, clearing the way for initial demolition and underground work at that site. Sherry said, "the development agreement and the final zone change for Clifton South PUD was approved," and added that the old house on the site has been removed and contractors have begun underground work.
Sherry also explained a code amendment: the council revised the municipal code to expressly prohibit open burning of yard waste, clarifying language that had previously only implied the ban. She said the change gives the fire marshal clearer guidance on when burn permits may be issued. The report also highlighted a set of upcoming community events and a brief update that NSL Lofts financing and permit activity remain pending.
