At the start of the regular session the council opened the floor to citizen comments. Andy Oblaid (speaker 10), a chief deputy at the Davis County Sheriff's Office and a Farmington resident, introduced himself as a candidate for sheriff and offered to meet with council members and answer questions about his experience and focus.
A Utah Valley student, Jake (speaker 16), said he will be attending council meetings for the next several weeks to conduct an ethnographic research paper and asked about consent forms and how participants'names would be handled in his class paper. Mayor and council members acknowledged the student and said names would be anonymized at the student's request.
Rachel Allen (speaker 4), the youth city manager, gave a brief youth-council report describing recent activities including making fleece blankets for Primary Children's Hospital, a tour of the FBI lab, and a monthly food-pantry activity; she previewed an author event on March 5 and an Easter egg hunt in April.
Council members thanked citizens for participating and noted community events and volunteer opportunities aligned with the city's America 250 observances and other outreach efforts.
