Committee members raised whether someone who accepts an appointment to the planning commission or city council could continue serving on the citizen budget committee. One member asked whether acceptance of such positions would require leaving the committee.
Staff member (S2) said: "So legally, anyone on the planning commission could stay on this committee. Anyone on the council can stay on the committee, and it would be up to the committee whether or not they're voting members." The staff explanation noted historical practice of limiting votes when roles overlap and suggested the committee would discuss membership rules when needed.
