Director Turner told the board that many of the changes are non-substantive formatting corrections to code citations and that staff would incorporate a definition of "permanent employee" into Article 68 and copy the hemp surety-bond language into the cannabis ordinance. "That is the extent of the typographical amendments or corrections for today," Turner said. County counsel confirmed that incorporating the specific language and citations would allow the second reading to proceed without renoticing.
The board left a separate question about removing the 10-year permit expiration unresolved; supervisors agreed to discuss that item when all five members can participate. County Counsel summarized the motion language to advance the draft "as amended" and set the next consideration date. The motion was moved and seconded and carried 4-0.
Next steps: staff will draft the specific ordinance text for the amendments discussed (surety-bond tiers, permanent-employee language and the minor citation fixes) and present the revised draft at the July 28 meeting for possible adoption.
