Sherry told commissioners there are currently no properties in North Salt Lake that the state mapped as 'extreme high' risk, but staff will develop a local map for adjacent hazard levels and plans to pursue neighborhood assistance programs and grants to help property owners create defensible space rather than impose blanket tear‑outs of landscaping. Staff flagged that adopting a local WUI map will require notifying affected property owners and likely prompt significant public engagement.
