Sherry Pace presented a corridor agreement the city negotiated with the Utah Department of Transportation that sets planning parameters for Highway 89: minimum street spacing and driveway spacing for new accesses, cross‑section exhibits (typical 110‑foot right‑of‑way with local variations), pedestrian crossings, lighting, transit landing pads for ADA access and traffic‑calming measures inside the town center. She told the council the agreement will help ensure redevelopment along the corridor preserves space for planned amenities and avoids ad hoc modifications.
The agreement includes a provision for UDOT to deed the existing greenway north of 350 North to the city so the city can consolidate a 4‑foot sidewalk and 4‑foot trail into a single 12‑foot multiuse trail, and the agreement requires future city planning documents to conform to the corridor standards. Council members praised the negotiated outcome and asked staff to draft a letter of thanks to UDOT for their cooperation; council approved Resolution 2026‑05R to adopt the corridor agreement.
