Staff says draft #2 of general plan expected for commission review in March

Planning staff reported an update on the city's general plan and urban design work, saying the consultant submitted draft number two on Feb. 14 and that staff will review the roughly 190-page document before bringing it to the commission for consideration in March. "On Valentine's Day, we got draft number 2 from the consultant. It's a 190 some odd pages," the planning staff member said, adding that staff will review the draft to ensure it's suitable for commission review and that the commission may need multiple meetings to digest the material.
Staff also reported that the urban design standards presentation was presented to the city council and that council reaction was positive. The update was informational; no formal action was taken and staff identified March meetings as the anticipated timeframe for commission review.
