The Colchester School District Board of Education received a briefing on the Vermont School District Redistricting Task Force during its Sept. 30 special work-session meeting. Board members were told the Task Force consists of 11 members, including legislators and education officials, and that it held its inaugural meeting in August 2025 in Montpelier to orient on logistics and data needs such as student populations, staffing, and geography. Any legislative changes would take effect in the 2028'029 school year. The briefing made clear no maps or final decisions had been adopted; the Task Force is still researching models and data-driven options.
