Heritage Pines CDD approves $19,200 Premier Lakes algae-treatment contract, cites $3,200 annual savings

District Manager Chuck Adams presented a proposal from Premier Lakes, Inc. and told the Board of Supervisors that switching vendors would save the district $3,200 per year compared with the existing SOLitude contract. "This is an overall cost saving of $3,200 per year when compared to the SOLitude contract," Mr. Adams said during the Oct. 15 meeting.
Mr. Adams said, if approved, he would initiate the 30-day termination clause with SOLitude so Premier Lakes could begin service on Dec. 1, 2024, and he reviewed Premier Lakes' scope of services. On motion by Supervisor Michael Walsh, seconded by Carol Vaughan, the board approved the Premier Lakes proposal for pond algae treatment in the amount of $19,200. The motion passed unanimously.
The board directed Mr. Adams to execute the termination notice to SOLitude and to provide the board with the Premier Lakes service schedule and a report identifying which ponds will be treated. The contract award and service start date were recorded as formal board actions at the meeting.
