Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb provided several updates at the July 14 meeting. She said staff members Sara and Misti are signed up for mandatory trainings, and that "Sara will be taking her certified clerk test at the end of July."
On the audit question she reported that, after speaking with the auditor, "it would cost at least $30,000.00 to do a forensic audit. They do recommend unless there is a problem with the yearly audit." Liscomb told the board the auditor recommended against a forensic audit unless evidence suggested a problem with the standard annual audit.
Liscomb also reported the town has no authority over the water or sewer districts and said the town is signing a new mutual-aid agreement with Gouldsboro Fire Department. Notices have been sent on related matters and routine EMS and quarterly reports were filed for the record.
