Council approves budget amendment including airport match and fund transfers

The Edinburgh City Council voted to amend the FY25–26 budget to add appropriations for the general fund, Los Lagos Golf Club Fund, the Edinburgh International Airport fund and the opioid fund. Finance Director Zencio Arlonti told the council that $77,500 would come from capital-lease proceeds and $1,935,398 from the city’s fund balance.
“All these items are funded from a general fund balance and a capital lease; after these appropriations we will remain at a healthy fund balance of 26.95%,” Arlonti said, noting that the package includes a required local match for a $20,000,000 state airport capital-improvement grant. Council members asked for line-item backup and Arlonti confirmed the airport match and other specific appropriations were included in the backup materials. The ordinance passed on a motion and second with all members voting in favor.
