Parks staff to standardize contracts, seek sponsors and tighten terms for facility users

Staff discussed balancing free facility use for nonprofits with requirements for reciprocal service (for example, groups performing service projects on facilities in exchange for free use).
Staff also described a sponsorship plan to solicit annual general sponsors who could support multiple events and programs rather than repeated monthly requests. The agency reiterated that contracts for instructor‑led classes commonly use a 70/30 revenue split, though staff said the split can change depending on workload and equipment costs.
Committee members asked for counts of current contracts (staff estimated around 25 active contracts across facility users and independent contractors) and asked staff to bring contract examples and recommendations to the next meeting.
