The applicant, Kelly of Rightway Signs, presented a single set of dimensional channel letters to be mounted on the south-facing elevation with a blue painted background and orange return trim. Kelly said the letters would be front‑lit, three inches deep and that the supplied LED modules were “87 lumens per module” and initially specified at “6,500 K” color temperature. Kelly told the committee the vendor order had not yet been placed and that she would search for alternate LED specs and upload a new cut sheet to the portal.
A committee member raised concerns about existing high‑temperature lighting at other local commercial sites and the effect on nearby residents, saying early‑morning light there “seems like Yankee Stadium.” The Chair noted the committee had recently adopted a 3,000K cap for new lighting and said the committee would impose a tighter limit for this project.
After discussion the committee member moved to approve the sign with a condition limiting Kelvin; the Chair seconded and the committee voted in favor. The Chair stated the approved color‑temperature limit as “not to exceed 2,000.”
