Board approves site change order, adds AV scope and starts Chartwells renewal process

Facilities staff asked the board to approve several contract actions related to ongoing construction projects. The board approved an early site change order to replenish rock and unsuitable soil allowances with Hoopah not to exceed $425,000 after staff explained the district exceeded initial allowances due to unexpected rock deposits. "So, the 1st approval I would ask is that change order to Hoopah in the amount not to exceed 425,000 for rock and unsuitable soil replacement," the facilities presenter said, and the chair called the item for approval; the board approved it without objection.
Staff also asked to move the AV (audio/video) scope back to contract construction to take advantage of state contract pricing; the board approved moving that scope back for an amount not to exceed $497,000. Later, the board approved step one of renewing the Chartwells food-service contract for 2025–26 (staff will submit required data to the state for final approval). These approvals were made "without objection" during the public session.
