Staff introduced the 92 Glenwood Avenue application and said the owner seeks ADR review and a demolition permit for exterior work (Alex, staff). "Tonight, the applicant at 92 Glenwood Avenue is requesting a recommendation, to town council for design review and a demolition permit," staff said.
The applicants said the 1931 house suffered stucco deterioration and water intrusion and that replacing the stucco is needed to prevent further damage. "We have a older home built in 1931 that had some deteriorating stucco and needed to be replaced to prevent water intrusion," the presenter said. They told the ADR they had consulted the fire department and identified a western red cedar shingle product with a plywood backing and a fire retardant layer listed for WUI zones in California.
Owner Cammie described a preference to let the natural wood "age and patina" and only paint if the material does not weather well: "My ideal is to have it age and patina really nicely and kind of have some browns and some grays and have the nice white trim." Committee members asked about staining and long‑term appearance and confirmed the product meets the fire‑safety considerations discussed with staff.
Multiple ADR members said the proposed change fits the street context and design aesthetic. One member said the project "fits well with the context of the houses on your street and the overall design aesthetic of Ross." No member requested changes to the proposal during the meeting; staff will include ADR comments when forwarding the application to the town council for final action.
