Town manager flags training costs, Lobster Festival plans and float flotation issue

Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb reported on several operational items at the July 28 meeting. She said that after reviewing the budget and the number of classes required for herself and another staff member ('Misti'), she did not see how the town could pay for a budget committee member to take a class this year. She also reported that Lobster Festival preparations are "coming together," with a large parade and new additions including a car show and cornhole on Friday night.
Liscomb also said that the new floats put in the water do not have enough flotation and that M. Young will examine them to determine what can be done. She noted she will sign paperwork to pursue a Rural Community Development Opportunity and work with HCPC on that item.
