The Kentwood City Commission authorized the mayor to enter an agreement with Fence Consultants to furnish and install two storage security cages in the police department’s new storage building at a total price not to exceed $23,590, including a 10% contingency, funded from the FY27 police capital fund. Police Chief Henry described one larger cage for property and evidence overflow and a smaller cage intended for ammunition storage and training logistics.
“This basically, as we've completed, this was one of the things... in an amount not to exceed $23,590, which includes a 10% contingency, with funds from the fiscal year '27 police capital fund,” the chief said during the presentation. Commissioners moved and approved the authorization by voice vote; the clerk recorded the motion as carried.
