CRA updates: streetscape balance, sculpture timeline and light-pole work; master plan firm selected

CRA staff reported on capital projects and incentive-program progress for the Central City area. The streetscape improvement balance was reported at about $2,600,000; staff said if the May 19 item to select a firm for the master plan is approved, approximately $200,000 will be deducted from that balance to pay the consultant. The CIP snapshot showing about $3,200,000 was discussed as an in-progress figure that will be reconciled after accounting actions.
Staff also said a public-sculpture project has been awarded to a selected firm and that production and installation would take about 10–12 months after contracts are finalized. On a separate project, the light pole installation at several permanent closed-street ends has received the required permit and construction is expected to be completed by the end of June or early July. Board members asked for additional detail and staff said they will return with more precise schedules and contract documents once agreements are executed.
