Fenton receives clean audit; council approves 2025 financial report

Leslie Gregory of Frick, Eggemeyer and Williamson (F.E.W.) told the Board the City received a clean opinion on the 2025 Audited Financial Report and Single Audit Report. "The City received a clean opinion, that is the best opinion that can be received," Gregory said, and she noted healthy fund balances, no debt, and compliance with state budget-to-actual requirements.
Finance Director Tammy Alsop presented investment and operations figures: the City's total cash and investments were $31,008,684 as of April 30, 2026, and the Storm Water/Parks Fund cash and investments were $12,087,173 (of which $3,065,685 is restricted to storm water/parks). Following the auditor's presentation the Board unanimously approved the final audited financial reports.
