The board considered and filled two vacancies on the Planning Commission Jan. 13 from a field of 15 applicants.
A board member moved to appoint John Paul to a four-year term; after a short discussion and a roll-call vote the motion passed and John Paul was welcomed to the commission.
For the second vacancy, the board initially misread the term length and a member rescinded the motion, then reintroduced and passed a corrected motion to appoint Michael Maton Jr. to a four-year term. The vote on the second appointment recorded one abstention from a board member and the remainder in favor.
Board members thanked all applicants and encouraged those not appointed to consider future committees and advisory roles.
