Police, schools to lead e‑bike education for students and parents in fall

He said police and the school department will distribute the sheet when schools resume in September to inform parents and students about where and how e‑bikes may be ridden safely.
Glennon said the town prefers education over immediate enforcement: police will attempt outreach and, if riders repeatedly present safety concerns, there is the option to impound an e‑bike until the message is received or to pursue citations for dangerous operation. The Board praised the outreach plan and asked the Highway Safety Committee and police to report back on the program’s effectiveness.
