Phil Caruso, Acton’s Emergency Management Agency director, asked the Select Board to confirm priorities on a county grant deliverable so the Road Commissioner and Fire Chief can finalize cost estimates. The board directed Caruso to coordinate with the Road Commissioner and Fire Chief, secure written estimates before proceeding, and not to exceed $75,000 without Select Board approval. Select Board member Tom McGurty emphasized following procurement rules to avoid disallowed grant costs.
Caruso also asked to post an Emergency Access Registration flyer and a link to a fillable form on the town website. Board members raised confidentiality concerns and suggested limiting the online form to name, address and telephone number to encourage participation while reducing privacy risks. The board agreed that a pared‑down form would be acceptable.
