The Town of Acton Select Board on July 15 accepted two resignations, appointed a replacement to the Planning Board and approved a property tax abatement. The board voted unanimously to accept Brandon Oulette’s resignation from his full‑time firefighter position effective July 20, 2026, after Oulette said he would move to a per‑diem EMT role. The board also accepted the resignation of William Wawrzeniak from the Road Committee effective when a replacement is found.
The board appointed Gavin Maloney to the Planning Board for a term ending June 30, 2027; Select Board member Tom McGurty acknowledged Maloney’s 15 years of service. The board also approved an abatement of $6,928 for the Kita Center after town staff determined a property transferred from a nonprofit should have retained an exemption. McGurty moved the abatement and Daniel Norwood seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
