"How do we stand on that last trustee on the water tower on Constitution Ave? Has anyone approached him about putting, whether it be Verizon... on the water tower?" a committee member asked. The staff liaison replied that property restrictions and an existing restriction on the site made straightforward agreements difficult and that the commission had not yet found an easy approach. Another member noted there is no general barrier to carriers placing small cells where they have permission, suggesting outreach to the trustee and carriers could be pursued as a next step.
Members concluded that siting at existing structures and pursuing conduit/dig-once strategies could be part of future work the commission supports.
