"There's only about $8,000 in the trust," the staff liaison said, and recommended PTMTV write to the city council requesting the distribution of remaining funds rather than pursuing a committee-level allocation. Staff said the trust will continue to receive diminishing franchise-fee payments and may be terminated if receipts fall below a minimum threshold, in which case PTMTV would need to pursue independent fundraising.
