County to hire Cummins Insurance for benefits consulting under three‑year contract

The board approved a three‑year contract with Cummins Insurance of Dunmore to provide health and benefits consulting services beginning Jan. 1, 2027. HR director Jenna Strzelecki said the county received three proposals and selected Cummins as the most cost‑effective and responsive option; the company also operates the county's benefits portal.
Strzelecki told commissioners the consultant will help ensure the county gets competitive rates for health, dental, vision and prescription coverage, assist with claims management and support open enrollment. Year‑one cost was read as $77,500. Commissioners approved the award by motion.
"The benefits consultant is needed to ensure the county is receiving the best and most competitive health care, dental, vision, and prescription rates as possible," Strzelecki said.
