James Cook updated the council on the Lakeside Well 4R and the Piney Hill water tower. He said Well 4R reached substantial completion on March 14, 2026 and received a Certificate of Potability on April 14, 2026; engineering firm GMB provided a letter stating the well is operational and provides approximately 96 additional equivalent dwelling units (EDUs) to the Town’s system.
Cook said Rauch has responded to Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and GMB second-round comments on the water tower and Piney Hill Road well. If no further comments are received, MDE will issue the permit and the tower project will be advertised for bid; tower completion is estimated at 12–20 months. Tree screening at Silver Lake is planned for the fall and is expected to be completed before nearby houses are finished.
