Council reappoints Bobby Quidas to planning commission; delays filling a vacancy

President Newnam moved to reappoint Planning Commission member Bobby Quidas to another five-year term; Commissioner Chase seconded and the council approved the reappointment unanimously. Commissioner Sullivan told the council he intends to step down from the Planning Commission and remain on the Town Council only.
The council said it had received a letter of interest from Mark Courtney and, after discussion, President Newnam moved to postpone appointing a replacement until the June 3 council meeting to allow the council to gauge additional candidates. Commissioner Potter seconded and the motion passed unanimously. During public comment Dan Deakins recommended Mark Courtney, saying Courtney is "very concerned with the environment and highly qualified."
